John E.
Green
- Born in Bethesda, Maryland in 1961 while father was in the US
Navy
- Grew up in Columbia. S.C. while my father completed his
military duty as a recruiter
- Attended both Catholic Parochial School, and a private Catholic
College Prep School
- Graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1985 with a
B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
- Worked as an Electrical Systems Design Engineer for Union
Switch & Signal Corporation
- Worked as a Senior Project Engineer for Kimberly-Clark
Corporation (1986-1989). Instrumental in revamping the companies Kleenex Tissue
production lines increasing productivity by 50%.
- Worked as a Senior Project Engineer for Augusta Newsprint Co.,
a division of Abitibi Consolidated in Augusta, Ga. (1989-2005). Responsible for
plant expansions including the addition of a $75M Recycle Paper Converting
Plant. Also instrumental in cutting edge energy reduction projects utilized
corporate wide. Partnered with the US Department of Energy on numerous
multi-million dollar projects & have had numerous case studies
published.
- Extensive experience in multi-million dollar capital projects
requiring extensive project planning, scheduling, coordination &
management.
- Certificate Holder for Kepnor-Tregoe Root Cause Problem
Solving, Six Sigma, and numerous quality assurance programs.
- Active in Industrial & Commercial Construction for over 20
years.
Richard H. Green
- Born in San Diego, California in 1951 while father was in the
US Navy.
- Lived all over the world from Hawaii to Turkey before the age
of 13.
- Graduated #2 in class of 265 from Columbia High School in
Columbia, SC.
- Started University of South Carolina at the age of 16.
- Graduated from U. of South Carolina with BS in Civil
Engineering.
- Worked as Civil/Structural Engineer for Daniel Construction on
projects including Roche Pharmaceutical in Puerto Rico, Michelin Tire in Sandy
Springs, SC and Proctor & Gamble in Albany, GA.
- Worked for Gilbane Building Co. as Project Engineer on $265
million Miller Brewery Project in Albany, GA in 1978 and 1979.
- Started Overhead Door Co. of Albany, GA and built spec and
contract houses in Albany, GA.
- Moved to Asheville, NC in 1987 and purchased 50% of L.B.
Jackson & Co., a general contracting firm.
- Residential development projects include The Meadows at Emma's
Grove and Fox Ridge in Fairview, Blake Mountain Estates in South Asheville in
partnership with Ken Jackson, Belmont Heights in Henderson County, SouthSide
Village in South Asheville, two Habitat for Humanity subdivisions (Oakwood in
Oakley and Wilson Creek in Asheville), and The Views of Asheville with Ken
Jackson.
- Commercial projects include Livingston Office Park, Southside
Office Park, Forest Edge Shopping Center and Webb Insurance with Ken Jackson.
In addition, developed Magnolia Plaza, a 27,500 SF shadow center (strip center
next to Super Wal-Mart with cross easements), in Magnolia, Arkansas, and
Danforth Plaza, a 30,000 SF shadow center, in Edmond, Oklahoma with Ken
Jackson.
- Purchased a 39,400 SF Food Lion anchored shopping center in
Madisonville, TN with Ken Jackson in 2005.
- Winner of the Greater Asheville Homebuilders' Association
Parade of Homes competition in 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000 and 2002.
- Multiple terms served on Greater Asheville Homebuilders'
Association and Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors, as well as Elder for
New Hope Presbyterian Church.
- Active in residential, commercial and industrial construction
and development for over 30 years.
- Licensed General Contractor and Real Estate Broker in North
Carolina.
